Website quality assessment and optimisation
I love the Internet - what it stands for, what it provides and how it is continually evolving. I have been building and maintaining dynamic websites and web applications since the early 2000’s. I know, develop and practise what is required to improve and maintain organic search result rankings from technical, content and social stand points.
Whilst I generally no longer take on development work, I do and can offer critique and advice on several web related issues.
Website quality and effectiveness: there are websites and then there are websites that people keep revisiting time and again because they offer something that can’t be found somewhere else. In essence the latter is an effective website, whereas a website that manages to bounce a visitor away after one page, never to see them again, is ineffective. I can perform an assessment of a website, or multiple sites for comparison purposes and report back on strengths and weaknesses, giving advice on targeted areas for improvement that when actioned should see a marked increase in traffic stats within 4 - 8 weeks for a typical website.
Website optimisation for search engine results page ranking improvement: usually referred to as SEO, I can perform an unbiased assessment of a given website and provide a hit list of recommended improvements to achieve higher rankings on the natural, organic search results pages.
Naturally both of the above services can be combined and to an extent, typically one service is not conducted with entire exclusion of the other as there is normally some cross over, however if consultation on just one issue is requested, more emphasis will be placed on that area over the other.

I designed, built, maintain and manage PhDSeek.com, a website dedicated to promoting PhD projects and programmes at universities and institutes across Australia.
PhDSeek.com has had particular attention paid to it in terms of search engine optimisation and provides several features for visitor retention.
The site includes a registration & sign-in system, as well as a content management system for universities and institutes to maintain their own listings.
